PostgreSQL is an open source relational database management system (RDBMS), which is generating excitement and being increasingly adopted around the world. Ranked as DBMS of the year three times in the past four years by the DB-Engines website, PostgreSQL is far more than just a database engine. It natively offers a wide range of features onto which a number of mature tools are grafted, meaning that it is a genuine platform for making the best use of the data it manages.
The aim of this presentation provided by the PGGTIE (Intercompany working group on PostgreSQL - https://www.postgresql.fr/entreprises) of the PostgreSQL.fr association is to share feedback from large French companies (IGN, SocGen, MAIF, leboncoin) on the implementation of features that are sometimes disregarded and yet are widely proven (geographic use, NoSQL, JSON, OnPrem/OnCloud, etc.).
Time for discussion will be set aside to allow participants to put all their PostgreSQL questions to the PGGTIE’s experts, who will share their experience of adoption, new features, difficulties, successes, etc.
PostgreSQL, more than just a database, a multi-use platform
