Today, PostgreSQL/PostGIS is the de facto database solution for all geographic data storage or analysis operations.
The Open Geospatial Consortium is a standardisation body, which publishes standards for the geospatial sector. In recent years, the OGC has worked to revamp its formats and protocols in order for them to be better suited to the reality of the modern internet.
Once the geographic data is in a PostgreSQL/PostGIS database, it is a matter of using it in the form of web mapping services, in order to be able to integrate these services into more complete applications.
This presentation will demonstrate the options offered by a set of GO components making the best use of PostgreSQL/PostGIS to provide OGC web services with increased usability and performance: pg_tileserv and pg_featureserv.
We will also explain how to extend these services with business API endpoints, thanks to the pREST component.
